Welcome! My name is Victoria Maria Gerdts, ACSW, MPA (she/her/ella) sexologa/sex therapist. I am of Mexican and European descent. Growing up I lived in a very traditional-Catholic religious household with strict gender norms. I learned later in life how my identities affected my partnerships, made me co-dependent, and prevented me from enjoying or exploring my sexual identity. I will work with you on how our attachment styles affect our nervous systems and our ability to maintain or build safe relationships with ourselves and others. I provide sex-positive therapy for couples and individuals seeking greater pleasure and relationship satisfaction, and I strive to provide an empathetic approach that encompasses intersectionality with nontraditional approaches, LGBTQIA+ affirmative, feminist/multicultural, disability justice, and radical interventions. My modalities include literature, trauma-informed practices, art, somatic exercises, as well as sex education on grief and loss, STIs and providing safe disclosures. In the therapeutic space I work from a developmental and systems model and include different methods such as CBT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. Trans/Non-binary Folx: I am also available for free gender letter consultations for gender-affirming surgeries! I am sex-worker positive. Fun facts about myself: I am a death doula and enjoy taking walks and spending time reading or with my artwork. (323) 739-4250
