Hello! My name is Elizabeth Gonzalez and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I am currently only able to provide remote services for individuals residing in California. I provide therapy, coaching, and consultation services for individuals seeking support with their mental health journeys and life goals. I am a bilingual psychotherapist (English and Spanish) and have a diverse background in the social work/mental health. I have worked in schools (K-12 mental health services), community mental health programs (Full-Service Partnerships), hospital/clinics, and in school consultation services. I have experience working with QTPOC, BIPOC, Latinx, and immigrant communities in the San Francisco Bay Area where I was raised. I support individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma (as a spectrum), adjustment disorders, and mood disorders.
Modalities I used vary depending on the goals and needs of each individual. My approaches include, but are not limited to Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Attachment-based, Coaching, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Compassion Focused, Culturally Sensitive, Feminist, Humanistic, Interpersonal, Multicultural, Narrative, Psychodynamic, Relational, Strength-Based, and Trauma Focused.
I am a Queer, first-generation daughter of immigrants and consider exploring generational patterns, experiential knowledge, and resilience important parts of our healing. I value and honor decolonial approaches to mental health, ancestral practices, and values-based living. I believe we are complex beings living complex lives and deserve supportive and responsive spaces to grow.
I chose to name my practice Caracól Counseling Services to reference the importance of the shell to the slow and steady snail. It is the shell that provides the shelter, protection, and care. I like to emphasize that engaging in therapy is a vulnerable process and should center the needs and pace of the individual choosing to include me as part of their wellness practice. I am an Ifa practitioner and adopting a cool, slow, and steady approach to my work–as embodied by the snail–is also a practice of reverence.
I welcome all inquiries about services I provide.
