Lucia Rios is a mom of two and the founder of Twisted Cotton Candy and Churro Service – gourmet catering services with a unique Latinx twist! She offers custom carts at events and cotton candy walls.
Entrepreneurship came into her life as a means to a need after being diagnosed with postpartum depression. In this episode, we discuss Lucia’s experience with postpartum depression, the thoughts and stigma, as well as what her recovery journey was like.
Did you know that Latinas are 37 percent more likely than other groups to suffer from postpartum depression? It is estimated that Latinas living in the U.S. have a higher risk of developing postpartum depression compared to others, with even higher risk among immigrant Latinas.
