About Yazmin Maldonado Aviles, LMFT

I am a child of immigrants and an immigrant myself. My name is Yazmin and I am LMFT who considers Watts and Mexico her home. As a WOC (Mexicana y Oaxaqueña) I have experience some of the challenges and realities that BIPOC folx face as they navigate life living in the USA. This is why I believe that we need safe spaces to exist, heal and thrive. Healing is possible and a birthright. I acknowledge the courage, fear, anger, commitment, community, discomfort and self love it takes to heal. In my work with folx I use various approaches and tools from the wisdom that was passed down from my ancestors, my masters program in Mexico City and my work experience in community mental health. In therapy my goal is to create a safe place where all parts of yourself are held.
