If you are reading this, I want you to know you are not alone. Whether you are navigating anxiety, boundaries, or major life transitions, therapy can be a space where you no longer have to hold it all together by yourself. My goal is to walk alongside you as you reclaim your peace, your confidence, and your ability to live fully on your terms.
My name is Yavierlis Cartagena, and I am a bilingual therapist (English & Spanish), speaker, and creator of tools that help women stop people-pleasing, start healing, and build healthier relationships without losing themselves in the process.
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and now live in Texas. My identity as a Latina is at the heart of my work. As the oldest daughter in a traditional household, I grew up carrying responsibilities and learning resilience but I also learned how easy it is to silence your own needs. Later, my own experiences with infertility, endometriosis, and postpartum anxiety pushed me to realize the cost of living without boundaries. These chapters shaped not only my personal healing but also my calling as a therapist.
In my practice, I specialize in working with women especially Latinas and first-generation professionals who are tired of feeling anxious, resentful, or disconnected because they’ve spent years trying to meet everyone else’s expectations. Many of my clients come in feeling guilty for wanting more, afraid of saying no, or unsure how to rest without judgment. My role is not to fix them, because they are not broken, but to help them reconnect with their voice, their worth, and their strength.
Therapy with me is compassionate, relational, and culturally responsive. I draw from trauma-informed approaches like EMDR, and parts work, but my main focus is creating a safe space where you can bring your full self your fears, your doubts, your dreams, and your cultura. Together, we work on reframing guilt, building self-compassion, and setting boundaries that allow you to love others and yourself at the same time.
Representation matters, and I know what it means to sit with a therapist who “gets it.” Many of my clients share that they’ve never had a therapist who speaks Spanish or who understands the unspoken weight of family expectations, cultural pride, and the pressure to succeed in spaces not built for us. In our work, we honor both the cultural strengths you carry and the challenges that come with them.
Beyond therapy, I am passionate about creating resources that help women integrate healing into their everyday lives. I’ve developed affirmation cards, guides, and workshops designed to remind you that self-love and self-respect are not luxuries they are necessities. These tools, like therapy itself, are invitations to pause, reconnect, and choose yourself again and again.
