Stephanie Lezama is an Associate Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. Raised by a single mother, Stephanie is a proud Latina who understands the complexities of navigating systems and mental health spaces that haven’t always centered her community’s needs. Her lived experience profoundly shapes her trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach to care.
She specializes in working with women, particularly Latinas, who are healing from trauma, navigating family enmeshment, and recovering from domestic violence, and learning to set and protect healthy boundaries. Stephanie also has experience providing therapy to children and adolescents, supporting them through emotional regulation, grief, identity development, and interpersonal challenges.
Stephanie has a clinical background in community mental health and private practice, providing therapy to children and families. She utilizes Narrative Therapy, DBT, Mindfulness, and Psychodynamic approaches to enhance self-awareness and foster meaningful change. Stephanie creates a safe space for clients to reflect, challenge old patterns, and build emotional resilience. She believes healing can include laughter and curiosity, approaching each session with warmth and cultural humility to guide clients toward their goals.
Outside of therapy, Stephanie is the founder of Chicas y Cafecito, a community-centered collective focused on Latina wellness, culture, and connection through book clubs, wellness events, and intentional gatherings. She enjoys cafecito conversations, psychological thrillers, and slow, nourishing mornings.
Stephanie is committed to walking alongside her clients as they reconnect with their voice, honor their story, and rediscover the strength that’s always been within them.
