Do you ever feel like the past is still living inside you, shaping your relationships, your choices, and even your sense of self? Healing doesn’t mean forgetting; it means finding freedom. I help people untangle the impact of childhood and intergenerational wounds, trauma, and identity struggles so they can live with more clarity and connection. I’m a Columbia University trained therapist, relational psychoanalyst, attachment and trauma specialist, helping you explore both the deep roots of your struggles and the patterns that emerge in your everyday life. Together, we create space for reflection, healing, and growth.
In therapy, we unravel the why behind your actions and make sense of your past and present self. Some clients come to me for help in processing childhood trauma, releasing a sense of stuckness, anxiety or wrestling with their mental health, while others are seeking support for creativity, relationships, or professional challenges.
Being a Brazilian American and mixed race, I deeply understand that the human experience is incredibly diverse and multifaceted. My personal and clinical experiences have led me to a profound understanding and reverence for the complexity of issues that bring people to therapy. Overall, it has given me an axis of relatability to support you in this journey. https://www.sunsettraumatherapy.com/sostenes-lima-lcsw
