Cultural Identities

About Silvana Lezama, AMFT

Silvana (she/her/ella) is a bilingual Associate Marriage and Family Therapist providing therapy in English and Spanish to adults and adolescents throughout California. She specializes in trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, and life transitions, including pregnancy and postpartum adjustment. Her work is grounded in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach that honors how identity, culture, and family systems shape emotional health.

As a mother, Silvana brings a deep commitment to perinatal and postpartum mental health, supporting new parents as they navigate identity changes, relationship shifts, and the emotional weight of caregiving. She understands how vulnerable and transformative this stage can be and focuses on creating a therapeutic space that feels both safe and empowering.

Silvana is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is passionate about trauma-informed care. She supports clients in processing past experiences, reducing emotional reactivity, and strengthening resilience. Before becoming a therapist, Silvana worked as a writer focused on maternal mental health and the stories of new mothers and women of color. That work continues to shape her belief that healing happens through connection, understanding, and being truly seen.

Therapy with Silvana is collaborative and grounded in real life, with an approach rooted in clarity, balance, and emotional well-being.
