Do you struggle to find or maintain meaningful relationships? Are you constantly wrestling with self-esteem issues and feeling like you’re never “good enough”? Do you feel tired, frustrated, and worn out from trying to meet everyone’s expectations, while pushing aside your own needs? Maybe you’re the person who’s always been the responsible one—never getting in trouble, always meeting goals, and solving problems on your own. If this sounds familiar, therapy could be the first step toward finding the support you deserve.
I’m here to let you know: it’s okay to ask for support. I understand the pressures of constantly trying to live up to impossible standards and the internal struggle of hiding your emotional pain. Together, we can create a safe space to explore and address the deeper reasons behind your feelings, whether they’re related to self-worth, political climate, past history of trauma (sexual abuse or domestic violence), relationship challenges, or the fear of being vulnerable.
One of my strengths is my ability to connect with my clients by being empathetic, honest, and direct. I provide assistance with life transitions, burnout, grief, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, people pleasing, goal setting and achievement. I can help in understanding how systemic forms of oppression affect the mental health of BIPOC communities. Through a trauma-informed approach, I work to validate and process these experiences, while also empowering clients to reclaim their narratives and cultivate resilience.
My approach is rooted in cultural humility, acknowledging that each person’s experiences are shaped by their cultural background, family dynamics, and societal influences. I work collaboratively with clients to explore the intersectionality of their identities and how these factors may impact their mental health and well-being. My clients describe me as authentic, challenging, direct, empowering, and open-minded. I am someone with a sense of humor, that will call you out and give you direction when needed.
As an immigrant from Central America, I am all too familiar with the cultural and sociological challenges that can consume our daily lives. I also recognize that simply seeking therapy can be viewed as weakness or frailty. However, I believe the ability to discard those misguided myths and seek help show that you already possess the necessary strength to face your fears and start that healing process. I welcome those that are seeking therapy for the first time and/or have had negative experiences with therapy in the past. Contact me for a free consultation to see if we are a good fit.
