If you’ve spent your life being the strong one, the responsible one, the one everyone counts on, but inside you feel anxious, tense, or emotionally shut down You are not alone!
Maybe you’re a high achiever. Maybe you’re a new parent trying to do better than what you were shown. Maybe you carry the pressure of family expectations, culture, sacrifice, and being the first to “make it.” On the outside you handle it. On the inside, you might overthink everything, react quickly in conflict, pull away when things get too close, or numb out with work, distractions, or substances.
For many Latino and Latinx men and women, the message growing up was: aguántate, push through, don’t complain, don’t show weakness. But your nervous system remembers what you went through; the stress, the silence, the pressure, the wounds that never had space to heal.
I help first-generation and multicultural clients slow down safely and heal at the root. Using EMDR and Somatic Experiencing, we don’t just talk about the problem — we work with your nervous system so old memories, shame, and survival patterns don’t keep running your life.
EMDR helps reprocess painful experiences and negative beliefs like “I’m not enough” or “I have to do it all alone.”
Somatic work helps you understand your body’s signals, regulate anxiety and anger, and feel more grounded in your relationships.
This work isn’t about changing who you are. It’s about helping you feel more like yourself — calm, confident, connected, and present.
If you’ve been carrying it alone for a long time, it makes sense that you’re tired. Therapy can be a space where you don’t have to be the strong one. A space where you’re understood culturally, emotionally, and relationally.
When you’re ready, I’m here.
