About Perla Lozano, MSW, ACSW, PPSC

Perla Lozano, MSW, ACSW, PPSC is a dedicated professional born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, who relocated to the United States at 12. As a first-generation professional, Perla profoundly understands the challenges inherited in navigating complex systems, particularly the language barrier she faced. She is deeply committed to empowering individuals to realize their full potential, focusing on helping clients establish healthy boundaries while fostering personal growth and resilience. Perla is fluent in Spanish and is fully equipped to accommodate clients in their preferred language.

Perla earned her Bachelor of Arts in Human Services, with an emphasis on Mental Health, from California State University, Fullerton, and her Master of Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Her professional career began in the child welfare system, where she gained invaluable experience providing support to children and families facing significant challenges, including substance abuse, poverty, child abuse, neglect, and the complexities of navigating the foster care and adoption systems. She has also served as a school-based therapist, where she worked closely with children and adolescents to address a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, time management, childhood trauma, grief, and multicultural challenges.

Perla’s approach to therapy is grounded in a client- and family-centered framework, incorporating evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She remains committed to continuous professional development, constantly seeking innovative approaches to enhance her clinical skills and create a meaningful impact on the lives of those she serves.
Perla values spending quality time with loved ones outside her professional endeavors and maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. One of her cherished daily rituals includes enjoying a warm cup of caffecito.

“No soy un producto de mis circunstancias. Soy un producto de mis decisiones.”
