Cultural Identities

About Pearl Velasquez

If you’re carrying the weight of past abuse, especially trauma that happened in childhood or within close relationships you’re not alone. I’m Pearl, a licensed trauma therapist and founder of Resilient Therapy. I specialize in helping adults and teens who feel stuck in survival mode: anxious, disconnected, emotionally overwhelmed, or constantly blaming themselves for things that weren’t their fault.

Many of my clients are survivors of sexual abuse, childhood neglect, or emotionally abusive environments. You may struggle with trust, people-pleasing, body shame, chronic guilt, or the feeling that you’re never truly safe even in calm moments. Maybe you shut down in conflict, avoid vulnerability, or feel like you don’t even know who you are outside of your trauma response.

My practice is rooted in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. I combine traditional therapy (like CBT) with EMDR, mindfulness, and body-based approaches to help you process what you’ve been through and reconnect with yourself mind, body, and spirit. I hold space for your story, your culture, your pace, and your healing.

At Resilient Therapy, the goal isn’t to rush your healing it’s to help you feel safe enough to begin it. You deserve a space where you’re not judged, dismissed, or expected to “just move on.” You deserve to feel peace in your body, clarity in your mind, and compassion toward yourself.

If you’re ready to move from surviving to healing, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
