About Ofelio Resendiz, Jr., M.A., LPC

I have experience working with Adolescents, Adults, Families, and Couples experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity issues. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important element of therapy within which we collaborate to discover a meaningful change. I practice Contemporary Gestalt Therapy, where we seek to build awareness in the present moment and understand how you make meaning of your environment. From this perspective, symptoms of mental illness are our attempt to cope with inner and environmental distress. Our work will be supporting these symptoms and becoming curious about their intended function which paradoxically leads to their resolution. We will work to help you become more of who you are rather than trying to eliminate aspects of who you are.
