Have you felt your cultural identity was unacknowledged by others leading to experiences of isolation, identity conflict, and/or social disconnection? Being a first-generation Latina, who also speaks Spanish fluently, I aim to hold your identities in our therapeutic work. The importance of identities lies in reflecting how societal inequalities (immigration status, discrimination, racism, etc.) and intergenerational trauma directly impact our life experiences. Processing trauma while honoring identities will increase our insight to your feelings and behaviors.
I work alongside clients with anxiety, depression, adults with late-diagnosed ADHD, OCD, and complex trauma. Including women who have been sexually abused. I cultivate a unique approach to each patient to honor your personal goals, incorporating elements of attachment, psychodynamic, CBT, experiential, and mindfulness-based approaches.
In our therapeutic relationship, I guide with empathy to cultivate a safe space and identify the interconnectedness of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Holding past life experiences and recognizing its influence in our life, personality, and/or interpersonal relationships. Together, we will process inner wounds to achieve meaningful change.
