Wholistic therapy is the combination of contemporary and alternative treatments combined with evidence-based practices to assist a person in achieving balance in mind, body, and energy naturally. This approach views the person as a whole being, paying close attention to all aspects of a person’s life, as issues in one area lead to issues in other areas. A deeper understanding of the whole self can lead to increased self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-acceptance, as well as emotional and physical well-being.
Treatment is tailored to each individual person and is a collaborative effort between client and therapist. Treatment is grounded in Polyvagal and Attachment Theories. Treatment approaches can include but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Parts Work Therapy, Somatic Psychotherapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping), Neuro-Nutrient Therapy (the use of amino acids, vitamins, and diet changes), and Brainspotting.
Some topics that may be covered include inner child work/reparenting, ego work, consciousness/mindfulness, the subconscious mind, boundaries, somatic interventions, autonomic nervous system, attachment, narratives, habit self versus authentic self, self-regulation skills, co-regulation skills.
