Welcome! I’m Monica Valdivia Aguilar, M.A., Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, licensed in California and providing individual, family & couples therapy both in person and online. My office is located in Southern California in the city of Pasadena.
As a first generation Mexican American and first born, I bring to my clinical work, the value that culture plays as we navigate the world of career, college, family, dating, marriage, parenting and all relationships.
I have been licensed for over 20 years and have specialties and a passion for working with young adults, first- and second-generation college & graduate students, early career professionals, and adult women. I also really enjoy supporting couples in deepening their connection and communication. I am certified in an effective model of couple therapy called Imago Relationship Therapy.
In my work, I use a collaborative, skills-based, and supportive style of working. Together we work on learning new skills, reflecting on the past and current experiences, look at patterns that may no longer serve you, while also learning new tools to navigate the different stages of life.
