You might be highly capable, successful, or hardworking on the outside, yet still feel stuck in patterns that keep you anxious, self-doubting, or struggling in relationships. You may find yourself overthinking, people-pleasing, or repeating the same relational or emotional patterns despite your best efforts. I provide a space where you can feel seen and understood while also working toward real, tangible change.
I was born and raised in the South Bronx, and my personal and professional experiences have shaped how I understand mental health in the context of culture, identity, and community. Early in my career, I worked at a neuropsychology clinic serving primarily Latinx families in Washington Heights. There, I saw firsthand how systemic barriers, trauma, and family dynamics can affect children’s learning and well-being, and how therapy can help address underlying challenges. That experience deepened my commitment to advocacy and informed the culturally aware approach I bring to every session today.
My approach blends schema therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and attachment-informed strategies. In our work together, we’ll explore the patterns that show up in your life in anxiety, relationships, or self-expectations and practice strategies to shift them. I balance warmth and collaboration with gentle challenge, helping you notice old patterns, question assumptions, and experiment with new ways of thinking, coping, and connecting.
You can expect therapy with me to be both reflective and practical. We’ll focus on understanding the roots of your struggles while also building tools and strategies you can apply in your daily life. My goal is not indefinite therapy, but meaningful change that helps you feel more grounded, confident, and capable in your relationships, work, and sense of self.
Cultural awareness and equity are central to my practice. I bring curiosity and attention to how your background, culture, and social context influence your experiences, while supporting you in navigating external pressures or systemic barriers that may contribute to distress. Whether it’s family expectations, professional stress, or broader societal pressures, I aim to help you understand the patterns at play and develop strategies that truly fit your life.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but it can also be an opportunity to explore what’s been holding you back, break old patterns, and gain insight into how you relate to yourself and others. If you’re ready to explore these patterns and start creating meaningful change, I’d be glad to support you.
