About Miles Alves Willis, MHC-LP

I see therapy as an opportunity to create a compassionate and empowering environment where you can feel seen, heard, and supported in your growth. Currently, I hold a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University and I am working as a pre-licensed therapist. I have background working with gender, sexuality, relationships/relationship conflict, poly/non-monogamy, kink, depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, and self-esteem.
My sessions are guided by empathy and curiosity, with a dash of humor. I draw from an eclectic approach, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Psychodynamic perspectives. Together, we can find what works best for you, helping you grow and explore in a way that feels right for you.
I believe it is important to meet the clients where they are now, while supporting where they want to go through therapy. If you feel like we might be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out and we can begin that journey together.

I’m excited to share that I’ll be facilitating a Queer Depression & Anxiety Virtual Support Group at G&STC!

Queer Depression & Anxiety Support Group –  Feelings of isolation are prevalent among queer folks, particularly those who struggle with depression or anxiety. With the added stress of the ongoing current events and today’s environment, those feelings of loneliness, depression, isolation and anxiety can become even more intense. This group will offer a safe space to process those emotions, and help reduce feelings of isolation. The Queer Depression & Anxiety Support Group will allow individuals to explore their experience with depression/anxiety as well as past and current triggers. This group will include peer support, feedback, and open discussion. This 12 week virtual group will run on Mondays from 6-7:15 pm beginning on November 10th.

You can find more details on G&STC’s group page!
