Hola, I’m Mercedes!
I’m Mercedes M. Ledesma, LCSW, a bilingual (English/Spanish) trauma therapist who supports teens and adults navigating Anxiety, Trauma, and Significant Life Transitions in Miami, Florida, and online throughout Pennsylvania. My work incorporates Somatic Principles to help you develop greater self-awareness by reconnecting with your body, emotions, and inner experience.
As a therapist born and raised in the Dominican Republic, I understand the importance of culture, family, identity, and the immigrant experience. I provide a warm, affirming space where Latino, multicultural, and immigrant clients can feel seen, understood, and supported without having to separate who they are from their healing.
My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and collaborative. Rather than focusing only on thoughts and symptoms, we explore how experiences may live in your body and influence the way you respond, relate, and make decisions. Together, we work toward moving beyond survival mode, reducing anxiety, strengthening self-awareness, and making choices that feel more aligned with who you are and where you want to go.
I integrate somatic work with evidence-based approaches such as CBT, trauma-focused interventions, Prolonged Exposure, and mindfulness, tailoring therapy to your individual needs and goals.
I also provide immigration psychological evaluations for Asylum, VAWA, U Visa, T Visa, Hardship Waivers, and Cancellation of Removal, with cultural sensitivity and clinical expertise.
I offer in-person therapy in Aventura, Florida, and secure online therapy throughout Pennsylvania. If you’re looking for a bilingual therapist who understands the intersection of culture, trauma, anxiety, and the body, I’d be honored to support you.
