About Mary Sanchez LMFT, PMH-C

Hey mama, life doesn’t always go as planned.

Pregnancy, birth, postpartum, loss, and motherhood can bring experiences and emotions you never expected. Maybe you’re navigating infertility, miscarriage, baby loss, TFMR, a traumatic birth, a NICU experience, difficulty bonding with your baby, postpartum anxiety or depression, relationship or family concerns, or simply feeling unlike yourself. You may be carrying anxiety, grief, overwhelm, trauma, or emotions that are difficult to put into words.

Whatever brought you here, you deserve a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and supported.

At Monarca Therapy, I specialize in perinatal mental health and support women through pregnancy, postpartum, loss, and the many transitions that can come with motherhood. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Our work together is tailored to your individual experiences, needs, and goals. It can be a space to process what you’ve experienced, better understand what you’re feeling, strengthen coping and communication skills, set healthier boundaries, and make changes that feel meaningful to you.

I also understand that asking for help isn’t always easy. For many of us in Latino families and communities, emotions and mental health may not have been openly discussed. You may have grown up hearing messages like “Tienes que ser fuerte” or “La terapia es para locos.” These messages can make reaching out for support feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar.

You don’t have to be strong all the time or have everything figured out before coming to therapy. You can simply come as you are.

The name Monarca Therapy holds special meaning for me. My family is from Michoacán, Mexico, where monarch butterflies return each year after a long migration. For me, the monarca represents transformation, resilience, and the different seasons we move through in life.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Perinatal Mental Health Certified therapist, my goal is to provide a space grounded in safety, compassion, cultural understanding, and respect for your autonomy. I understand that every experience of pregnancy, loss, postpartum, and motherhood is different, and therapy should make room for your individual story.

If you’re considering therapy, I invite you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation. We can briefly talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re looking for, and whether I may be a good fit for your needs.
