About Mariela Romero, Resident in Counseling

Mariela Romero, M.S.Ed., Resident in Counseling (she/her/ella) is a bilingual Mexican-American therapist committed to supporting Latine children, teens, young adults, and women in their emotional well-being with confidence and connection. She offers a compassionate and culturally rooted space where clients can express themselves freely in English, Spanish, or Spanglish.

Mariela specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma healing, and strengthening identity and self-esteem. She is passionate about walking alongside first-generation students, young professionals, and immigrant families as they navigate life transitions, family dynamics, and the experience of honoring multiple cultural worlds.

Her therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relational-Cultural Theory, and trauma-informed practices along with somatic and movement-based techniques that support nervous system regulation and mind-body connection. She collaborates with clients to build coping strategies, explore emotions with curiosity, and deepen self-trust.

Grounded in warmth and empowerment, Mariela believes healing happens through connection within ourselves and with others. She strives to create a space where clients feel deeply understood, celebrated, and supported in their journey toward resilience and joy.
