My name is Mariel. As a therapist, I work with adults who grew up with emotionally unavailable parents and are seeking to heal from those early experiences. I understand how challenging it can be to navigate relationships and self-worth when the emotional support you needed was absent. We can explore how those past dynamics may be impacting your present life and work towards building healthier relationships with yourself and in other areas of your life. My approach combines empathy, insight, and practical tools to help you break free from patterns that no longer serve you, so you can cultivate deeper emotional connections and a stronger sense of self.
I was born in Bolivia, and as a Bolivian immigrant, the challenges my family and I faced in navigating cultural differences and overcoming adversity have deeply shaped my perspective, in which fostering empathy and resilience influence the therapist I am today.
Our emotional wellness is a constant work in progress, and going through the journey alone is not easy. I emphasize on having a strong relationship with my clients, where it can feel safe to talk, laugh and cry. Whether this is your first time seeking a therapist or you are looking for a different approach, I aim to hold our therapeutic space safe and comfortable. I am a therapist who thrives on integrating different modalities in my practice. It’s important to get a sense of my approach to ensure you feel I am the right fit for you. I am available to schedule a free 15-20 minute initial phone or video call to further understand more about your therapy needs. Rest assure that our consult call is hassle free; I welcome you to take your time to decide whether to move forward with me after our call.
