About Maria Deschamps, NCC, LGPC

I’m Maria Deschamps, a bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English, therapist at the Hope Center for Wellness, an award-wining Latina and immigrant-owned mental health practice. I bring more than 15 years of clinical experience and a deep commitment to supporting individuals on their healing journeys. My background includes two master’s degrees in psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy from programs in Mexico and Spain, as well as a counseling degree from Trinity University. I have the training to work with children aged 6 and up, teenagers and adults.
Grounded in a psychoanalytic perspective, I pay close attention to the internal conflicts, patterns, and unconscious influences that shape a person’s emotional world, even beyond the symptoms. I also incorporate expressive arts and meaning-making practices. My approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to each person’s lived experience.
At the Hope Center, I also lead support groups, facilitate expressive arts-based groups for teens, offer trainings on mental health topics, lead healing circles, conduct mental health evaluations for immigration cases.
If you are seeking a space to reflect, grow, and better understand yourself, I am here to support you.
