Therapy for anxiety & stress, grief & loss in Oakland and online across California. Hybrid In-person/Online option for folks in the Oakland. Walk & Talk Nature-based sessions available in Oakland and Alameda.
Is anxiety and stress pulling you away from your well-being and the person you know you can be?
Do you feel overwhelmed by family and social expectations, and find it difficult to make time for yourself?
Do you feel that, despite everything you do for others, you can’t find space to heal or rest?
Do you want to try something different from traditional talk therapy to help you process how you are feeling, heal from overwhelm and self-doubt, and reclaim your joy?
You are not alone in feeling overwhelmed. Although stress is a part of life, feeling overwhelmed and anxious means something is calling for attention and healing. For many of us, stress, anxiety, and trauma can take a big toll on our body, health and relationships. And these are not just personal struggles—they are often deeply rooted in history, generational patterns and the harmful expectations of social oppressions.
If this resonates for you — know that you don’t have to carry it alone. Together, we can begin to create a space where you can slow down, tune in to yourself, find ease and heal those wounds.
Hola, I’m María Cristina. In my therapy practice I integrate somatic(body-mind) therapy, nature-based therapy, expressive arts, and Internal Family Systems (parts work). This integrated approach is a combination of the healing work I’ve been cultivating supporting BIPOC, Latine, women of color, immigrants, parents, activists and fellow therapists in their healing from anxiety, stress, trauma, grief and loss for the last 15 years.
I don’t think therapy should be a one size fits all approach so my intentions are to meet you where you are at and offer you a space where you can be your authentic self. There is no pressure to be ‘strong’ for others or hide your struggles. I’m here to support you, as you are, with curiosity and compassion.
Being a Puerto Rican woman of color living in Oakland, California since 2004 are some of my intersecting identities. My therapy work is connected to my experiences growing up within a colonial system, living in the diaspora, what it means to be far from home, family, the land and how we find connection and with ourselves, community, and purpose.
“A veces, el estrés y la ansiedad nos hacen sentir perdidas, desconectadas de nosotras mismas.” I know it takes support and connection to make the changes we desire, especially when cultural and social conditions push us to keep pushing through or disconnect. I want to hear your story and support your healing journey. Please visit my website to learn more about the work we can do together and schedule a consultation today.
