If difficult life experiences have left you feeling stuck, worried, hopeless, angry or overwhelmed, we can work together to bring change to your life. My first priority is building a trusting, safe relationship with you. I utilize the principles and practices of trauma-informed care, social justice, attachment theory, and somatic therapy to cultivate a safe, non-judgmental environment. Informed by the connections between mind, body, and emotion, I will use cutting edge science about the brain that empowers you with information to better understand your relationship patterns and why you think, feel, and behave the way you do. Through curiosity, compassion, and empathy I will help you put this information into action--cultivating specific tools and mind and body practices that get you unstuck, and move you towards feeling more calm, grounded, and connected, and towards being in relationships that are mutually satisfying. I specialize in working with people who have experienced interpersonal traumas (i.e. emotional, physical, sexual abuse, etc.), and systemic traumas (i.e. racism, classism, homophobia, etc.) and am trained in several mind/body trauma treatments (see below). Before transitioning to mental health work, I did social and economic justice work for 15 years with low-income, people of color, and immigrant communities through community and labor organizing, policy and electoral work.
