About Linda Castellanos Yanez, LSW

As someone who grew up in a community afflicted by inequities and a lack of mental health resources, I understand the difficulty of trying to manage life challenges while balancing the unspoken stigma attached to mental health. Starting your mental health journey can be a scary one – But it doesn’t have to be done alone! I aim to create a compassionate and collaborative environment where you can share your story.  A great therapeutic relationship is so important for your healing journey.  I believe it is important I present my most authentic self in our therapy space  to create a collaborative environment where you feel comfortable. I will follow your lead and walk alongside your own personal healing journey wherever this may take us – together, we will dive deep into parts of your life you would like to reflect on and further understand.  You are the expert in your life and I will tailor your therapy experience to your unique story taking into account all the experiences that have shaped your identity. My style of practice is influenced by trauma- focused somatic work, womanist and a mindfulness approach. I believe our bodies carry generational traumas and unhealed wounds – when clients feel comfortable / ready I will work with you to address the stress you may be carrying. Through telling our stories we can learn to recognize unhealthy patterns and create meaningful change. I have dedicated my focus to supporting survivors of trauma in community mental health settings. My work has allowed me to see how systemic and racial issues affect BIPOC  communities. I have supported adults (18+) facing complex traumas, adult children of alcoholics, life transitions, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, intimate partner violence and grief / loss.
