About Leslie Aguilar, LMFT

What does “balance” mean, look like, and feel like to you at this current stage in your life? We live in a world where we are flooded with information as we try to make time and create understanding for all the important things and people in our lives. It can feel overwhelming and confusing to identify which “wellness” tip or type of support may be the most effective. It’s even harder if something feels emotionally “off.” For some of us, that may lead to ongoing avoidance of taking steps towards taking care of ourselves, especially if we already struggle to ask for help. Let’s figure out how to approach your current life circumstances and needs. It’s okay if you do not know where to start!

I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, relationships & dating, disordered eating, body image, emotion regulation, high-achieving/functioning individuals, and personality disorders.

I believe flexibility is an essential part of the therapeutic process; I draw from different therapeutic approaches to support your current & evolving needs, preferred learning styles, and lifestyle. I believe the therapeutic space needs to hold space for humor (sarcasm included!), curiosity, and joy; let’s embrace the full human experience.

I am a trained DBT therapist, offering adult individual DBT therapy and individual DBT skills coaching in the San Fernando Valley. Alongside my work with teenagers, I offer DBT skills coaching sessions for parents/guardians as their teens participate in DBT therapy. DBT therapy can also be integrated into couples and family therapy.

My office is based in Studio City (Los Angeles), CA. I offer in-person sessions and virtual sessions.

You’re encouraged to schedule a 15-minute phone consultation. Context is important to ensure an effective collaboration. You can message me through the contact button on this page or by filling out the contact form on my website: https://www.leslieaguilartherapy.com/contact
