Hi, I’m Leana Torrez, a bilingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida and the founder of Let’s Talk Psychotherapy. I provide online therapy for teens and adults across Florida who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and begin healing from experiences that have shaped their lives.
Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck in cycles of anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional exhaustion. Often, these patterns are connected to past experiences that were never fully processed. Trauma can show up in many ways—difficulty trusting others, feeling disconnected from yourself, chronic stress, or the sense that your nervous system is always “on edge.” My work focuses on helping clients gently explore these patterns so they can move toward greater clarity, stability, and self-compassion.
I am a trauma-informed therapist and an EMDR-certified clinician through EMDR International Association. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess painful memories so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity. In addition to EMDR, I integrate other evidence-based approaches such as Trauma-Focused CBT and narrative work to help clients build resilience and reconnect with their sense of agency.
As a Latina therapist, I understand how culture, family dynamics, migration stories, and generational experiences can shape mental health. Many individuals from marginalized communities grow up navigating expectations, responsibilities, and stigma around mental health that make asking for help difficult. Creating a space where clients feel respected, culturally understood, and emotionally safe is deeply important to me.
My practice is affirming of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals, and I strive to provide therapy that recognizes the broader social and cultural factors that influence emotional well-being. Healing does not happen in isolation—it happens within the context of our relationships, identities, and lived experiences.
In our work together, therapy is not about “fixing” you. It is about understanding the protective patterns your mind and nervous system developed over time and learning new ways to move through life with greater balance and self-trust. Healing is rarely linear, but you do not have to navigate it alone.
If you are looking for a therapist who approaches healing with compassion, curiosity, and respect for your unique story, I would be honored to support you on that journey
