Cultural Identities

About Laura Alvarado, LPC

Hi, I’m Laura and I’m here to help you feel less alone in figuring things out. Whether you’re the first in your family to go to college, starting a new chapter of adulthood, or trying to make sense of anxiety, identity, or burnout—this space is for you. I specialize in working with first-generation students and young adults who are navigating big changes, cultural expectations, or just trying to find direction and balance.

Being the “first” often means carrying pressure, pride, guilt, and confusion. Together, we’ll unpack these layers and explore how your story, strengths, and struggles shape what’s next. Therapy with me is collaborative, down-to-earth, and inclusive. I bring a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed approach that honors your experience and empowers your growth.

You’re not expected to have all the answers. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just ready to start understanding yourself on a deeper level, let’s talk. You deserve support that sees the full you.
