Cultural Identities

About Kelly Sanchez, ASW #123967

As a bilingual (English/Spanish) Associate Clinical Social Worker, I provide culturally responsive therapy for Latinx, BIPOC, and marginalized communities. I understand that culture, family dynamics, identity, and systemic experiences can shape mental health and influence how we navigate life’s challenges.

My work is also informed by my family’s Indigenous roots in Oaxaca and Guanajuato, Mexico, where traditional healing practices and community-centered approaches to wellness have been passed down through generations. I recognize the impact that colonization, intergenerational trauma, migration, systemic inequities, and economic systems can have on mental health, identity, family relationships, and overall well-being.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, stress, and burnout. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and DBT-informed interventions.

My background includes community mental health, crisis stabilization, serious mental illness, substance use treatment, and housing services. I am passionate about helping clients explore the impact of cultural expectations, intergenerational patterns, and family relationships while building practical coping skills and emotional resilience.

My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel understood, empowered, and connected to their authentic selves while honoring their cultural values, lived experiences, and personal strengths.

I provide services through HM Psychological Services, Inc. under the supervision of  Heather Marriatori, Ph.D, LP, CCTP,Licensed Clinical Psychologist (CA) PSY31034
