About Katerina Rios, LCSW, LICSW

*Immediate weekday availability. In-person or virtual options for clients in Illinois. I can only offer virtual sessions to clients in Massachusetts.* Distress, discomfort, and change are often behind life’s most challenging moments. However, with support, these moments can serve as catalysts for significant growth. I work with young adults, adults, and adolescents who are dealing with a variety of stressors, including symptoms of anxiety and depression, life transitions, family conflict, relationship issues, and identity exploration. I partner with clients to become curious about the patterns that may be appearing in their lives, discover and implement new coping strategies, and move forward with greater intention. I use a mix of evidence-based therapies to best meet your needs. I individualize treatment using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic frameworks. Through collaboration, we will identify your goals and create tangible, realistic steps to help you achieve them. I center my clients’ lived experiences, honoring that they are the experts of their own situations. I aim to create a space that allows clients to find safety in vulnerability and increase a sense of agency and empowerment. I use radical empathy and humor to build a strong therapeutic relationship; the most important factor in positive therapy outcomes.
