Hi there. I’m Kalissa, a forever student, teacher, wanderer, and healer, deeply committed to fostering social change by cultivating a safe space for practicing and embodying liberation. As Octavia Butler wisely said, ‘The only everlasting truth is change.’ This begs the question: how do we cultivate a good relationship with change? How do we shape it?
If you find yourself here, you might be wrestling with similar thoughts—questions about the meaning of life under capitalism. Or about how to find happiness among global disaster and heart ache? Or maybe, do you even deserve to be well? Is it possible? Or maybe you’re just bone-tired—worn down by the weight of it all, wondering if healing is even possible or if it’s just another empty promise that feels out of reach.
Welcome.
As someone who has lived in the tension of these questions, I’ve learned that healing isn’t about finding quick fixes but cultivating resilience and wholeness in the face of change. Finding answers, together, is what brings me into this healing work. I also recognize that ‘therapy’ can often feel shallow and harmful at its worst. My goal is to offer something different—something real, deep, expansive, and transformative.
My practice centers on the abolitionist principle that we all need each other in order to be free. I integrate breath and body work into the exploration of the various parts of self to support you in healing past and current wounding. This allows space for new and ancestral ways of learning and being. I do this while also offering tangible mindfulness skills to assist you in gaining a more mindful relationship with yourself, the land, and those around you.
I call in my no sabo kids, my biracial baddies, my queer cuties, my overthinkers, anyone just trying to make it through the day with a little more joy. My invitation is to bring your whole self—your complexities, your histories, your intersecting identities—into this space, so together we can explore what it means to heal in ways that honor both you and your communities. Let’s create the conditions for your freedom, healing, and joy.
