Being raised in an immigrant, working class family taught me the value of respect, humility, and looking out for one another. I carry these values in any space I operate in, whether it's in my own family, community, and my professional space. I know that it can be a struggle to reach out for help when you might be disconnected from yourself and others, which is why I value any person that reaches out to me.
As a first-generation person of color raised in East Los Angeles and of immigrant parents from Mexico, it has been a healing journey for me to work through my own trauma to be fully present and genuine with any one I am working with. I am here to help you address issues pertaining to your past, present, and future self to heal and begin to take the steps in breaking negative generational cycles.
I have experience working with diverse populations in community, school, and clinical settings. I incorporate a social justice lens to analyze the impact of how our intersecting identities and social forces impact our mental health. I collaborate with you in the process of healing and tap into your inner strengths, while identifying your negative cycles. I have passion in working with many folks including trauma survivors, couples, families, elders, first generation folks, fathers, parents, men, first timers in therapy.
In the therapy sessions, we will explore and draw connections to our roots. I use a combination of different therapy approaches to address the internal, historical, or family cycles that impact our mind, body, and soul. I collaborate with you in the process of healing and tap into your inner strengths while identifying the cycles that get us caught in limiting our potential. *Please inquire on sliding scale availability.
