Congratulations on taking another step in your healing journey; I know finding the right care can be overwhelming. Drawing from my own marginalized identities, lived experiences and work with clients, I have witnessed the barriers to receiving treatment firsthand and understands the significance of being a clinician who is knowledgeable about how identities impact one’s journeys. Because of this, cultural humility, identity-affirmation, and social justice are important values to me.
I use empathy, creativity, curiosity, collaboration, and humor in my therapy approach. I integrate various methods, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Art Therapy. Because therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, I work with clients to find the best approach for their needs. I like to use “outside the box” methods, such as finding connections through media and art.
I have developed the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds, identities, ages, and abilities. I have a range of clinical interests, and I specialize in serving the Latinx community, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and older adults. I aim to be a “fellow traveler” on each client’s journey.
As a Latinx therapist, it is a privilege to serve my community. My commitment to working with underserved populations is a fundamental reason for my pursuit of this profession. I am dedicated to providing compassionate and culturally informed care to those who may face systemic barriers to mental health support.
