Did you know that only 36% of Latinx individuals in the U.S. receive mental health services?
Are you looking for a space to express how you actually feel? Looking for self-improvement but not sure where to start?
Hey! My name is John Vargas (he/him/él), and I’m a Latino male therapist. As a son of immigrant parents, I get the unique cultural and systemic stressors our community faces. I have therapy experience working with teens, young adults, and adults. I specialize in Latino/e/x young men’s and men’s mental health, focusing on emotional expression, identity, vulnerability, self-discovery, and relationships. My approach is culturally and LGBTQIA+ affirming, while blending cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches. I’m trauma-informed and trained in Attachment-Focused EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy.
I offer 100% telehealth therapy sessions via video only for anyone physically located in California.
We’re in-network with many insurance providers, including Medi-Cal plans! If your insurance is not covered, paying out of pocket is an option.
Reach out for more information or with any questions! I’ll get back to you ASAP.
