Cultural Identities

About Jimmy Cabrera Jr, LCSW

Many of the people I work with are navigating pressure –pressure to succeed, to hold it together, to be strong for others.  You might be the one everyone relies on, while inside you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of your direction.

As a Mexican American therapist, I understand how culture, family expectations, and identity can shape the way we experience stress, relationships, and self-worth.  Sometimes we carry emotional patterns that didn’t start with us –patterns rooted in family dynamics, survival, or unspoken expectations.

In our work together, we create space to slow down, understand what you’re carrying, and begin to shift those patterns in a way that feels real and sustainable.  My approach blends traditional psychotherapy with somatic awareness, mindfulness, and deeper exploration of how your beliefs and experiences shape your reality.

I also incorporate what I call Holographic Psychotherapy –an approach that helps you see your life not as random or broken, but as something meaningful that can be understood and transformed.  We’ll work with both your mind and your body to create clarity, emotional balance, and lasting change.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.  You don’t have to carry everything on your own.

This can be a space where you show up fully, without pressure –and begin reconnecting with yourself in a deeper, more grounded way.
