Rubi (She/Her/Ella) is first-generation university graduate, raised in Santa Ana, El Salvador. She is a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#143214). Rubi graduated from California State University, Northridge where she specialized in individuals, couples, and families from a systemic perspective. This curriculum was designed to teach Latinx families how child maltreatment occurs and is passed on throughout generations. Rubi gathered pre-existent research that provided evidence that there are several ways to break the cycle of generational child maltreatment. Rubi is an advocate for breaking unhelpful generational cycles. Her approach is client-centered and strength-based. She looks into your strengths and meets you where you are at in your healing process. Her approach encompasses the importance of developing coping skills and creating a strong collaborative experience so that you express the hurt and any emotional baggage you came with. Rubi has worked with families in outpatient and inpatient programs to support adolescents going through depression and anxiety, Rubi has facilitated several psychoeducational and support groups for parents with various ethnic backgrounds. She is currently trained in: · Dialectical Behavioral Therapy · Cognitive Behavioral Therapy · Nurturing Parenting · Family Systems therapy · Up to Level 2 of The Gottman Method · The Seven Principles for Making Marriage work – Leader training.
