About Jessica Contreras

With such a fast pace of life, you may feel like you are standing still while everything seems to be zooming around and past you. You could be getting frustrated, going through the motions or drowning within a never ending list of “to-do’s”.  This frustration could leave you feeling like everything is spinning out of control and it’s hard to make decisions. You might even find yourself questioning what you’ve done wrong, wondering how things got this way and why this is happening to you. You can calm the internal noise and build the confidence you need to feel in control of your own life.

I know what it feels like to overthink or feel great self-doubt. I believe we can overcome challenges and obstacles when we are provided the support, empathy, compassion, and guidance. During my time working as a parent-support specialist I learned the importance of  supporting people to not only see their fears, but push past discomforts and find their inner strength. I also realized people do not always have proper access to support when they need it, which drove me to become a therapist. I am committed to help people separate that when things go wrong it’s ok to feel negative feelings but know inside the negative situation is not them as a person.

Through a decade working as a bilingual clinician with my concentration in latino mental health, I found ones ethnic background and upbringing can influence their perspective of themselves and the world. I believe that the problems people have should not define who they are as a person. I strive to help people recognize their problems are separate from themselves and help them pull out what they already have within themselves. I enjoy supporting individuals through building new skills and making changes needed to feel empowered to manage conflicts in a healthier way.

I can see how hopeless it can feel to not know where to turn to find answers. You are not alone, we can figure this out together. We all carry a story, and with the right tools, I can help guide you to move forward with strength, empowerment, and confidence. Connect with me today.
