About Jenny López, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

¡De todo corazón, hola y bienvenidx! Rooted in Nature Therapy™ specializes in bilingual and nature-guided mental health care for First Gen and immigrant adults and caregivers who are ready to come out of survival mode and experience improved emotional and social wellness.

Yo soy Jenny López, LCSW (she her ella), owner and mental health practitioner for Rooted in Nature Therapy, where we integrate culturally attuned therapy with nature as guía and sostén for well-being support. Sessions are available outdoors, in office, or via telehealth across California, with spring enrollment now starting March 2026 openings. You are invited to schedule a complimentary discovery call today.

About me. I’m a bilingual and bicultural therapist, a state-endorsed Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist, and proudly of raíces Oaxaqueñas Mixtecas. My practice is grounded in ecotherapy/ecoterapia, where caring for ourselves and caring for la Tierra are intertwined to improve our relationship to our Inner Nature and others for the care of People + Planet. My 16-year career has been shaped by years of supporting individuals and families through stress, grief, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. I have a deep respect for the ways our stories, culture, and environments impact emotional wellness. I hold therapy as a space where you can exhale, BE, and feel supported in ways that are sustainable, not performative.

Who I support. I support First Gen and immigrant adults who are balancing familia, work, school, and a lot responsibility. Many clients look “fine” on the outside, and inside feel overwhelmed, stuck in overthinking, carrying guilt, or shut down and numb. Sometimes the nervous system has been on alert for so long that calm can feel unfamiliar. Sometimes you are the person who everyone leans on. If you have been whispering “¿y yo, cuándo?”, you are not alone. You are in the right place and you are worthy of being held, too.

What you might be navigating. You may be experiencing anxiety that shows up as worry, tension, irritability, and/or racing thoughts. You may be experiencing burnout and caregiver overload, feeling like you are constantly needed with very little time to replenish. You may be healing from traumatic experiences, including developmental and childhood trauma that echoes in your  current relationships and self esteem, today. You may feel depressed, emotionally numb, or disconnected from joy and motivation. You may be navigating life transitions and identity shifts, relationship stress, boundary challenges, or people pleasing patterns that leave you feeling drained. I also support caregivers navigating perinatal and postpartum seasons, when emotional and relational needs can change quickly and support matters deeply.

How I work. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and culturally attuned. I integrate Person Centered Therapy, attachment informed care, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness practice, reflective capacity-building, and nervous system regulation support. Together, we build on your strengths and also make room for what has been heavy, unspoken, or postponed in the name of survival. Therapy with me is not about fixing you. It is about restoring connection to your inner wisdom, strengthening emotional steadiness, and building a sustainable rhythm that honors your humanity, values, and priorities.

In our sessions, we may map our what activates you and what steadies you, so you can notice patterns sooner and respond with more choice. We may practice regulation tools that are realistic in the middle of real life, not only when the day is calm. We may strengthen boundaries with compassion and clarity, especially when family expectations and cultural messages have made it challenging to say no. We may shift inner dialogue from self criticism into self respect, and we  gently explore how early experiences shaped the way you relate to yourself and others today. We also make space for what cannot be rushed. Grief, anger, tenderness, longing, and fatigue all have a place here, where we can hold feelings together and come to the recognition that while trauma may be a part of our life story, it doesn’t define us or get to high-jack our life in the present or future.

Nature as guía and sostén. Nature is not a backdrop in our therapeutic work. It is guía and sostén. This can look like Walk and Talk sessions outdoors, where movement and fresh air support emotional flow, grounding, and clarity. It can also look like weaving nature into telehealth in grounded ways, through breath, sensory practices, imagery, and attention to the elements. For example, we may lean on wind as a reminder that the body can release. We may lean on water as a way to honor emotion, cleansing, and flow. We may even lean on trees as a model for staying rooted while life moves around you. Nature as our teacher models rhythm, seasons, boundaries, rest, and return. For many First Gen and immigrant folks, reconnecting with nature can also be a remembering and homecoming, a return to ways of knowing that have always existed, even if survival has pushed us to the side.

Ready for the next step? Sessions are offered in English y Español via telehealth across California, in office, or outdoors in the Los Angeles area. I offer private pay options. I am also a Headway provider, accepting many major insurance plans. Sliding scale options are offered as available. Spring enrollment is open now for March 2026 start dates.

The next step is a complimentary 15 to 20 minute discovery call on Fridays by phone. During our call, we will briefly discuss what you are hoping for support with, review my approach and logistics, and make space for your questions so you can decide what feels right for you.

En comunidad y con mucho cariño,
