About Jennifer Ruiz Blandon, LCSW

Are you feeling the pressures of being the first-generation eldest daughter in your family?

Te veo! The drive to succeed, the pressure to honor los sacrificios de la familia, and the responsibility of setting an example can lead to deep exhaustion. You may find yourself striving for perfection, feeling guilty when you fall short, and constantly putting others’ needs before your own. It’s tiring, and finding balance is hard when guilt and perfectionism are steering your life.

In my virtual office, you’ll find a safe space to express yourself and explore who you are beyond the expectations of others. Together, we’ll uncover your true self—your likes, dreams, and desires—while healing from the pressure you’ve been carrying for so long. We will work through your emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and even generational ties, using a range of techniques to help you care for yourself with kindness and compassion.

Our work will also focus on the body, recognizing how trauma and emotions are stored within it. The body holds onto stress and trauma, impacting your nervous system, immune system, and overall well-being. We’ll explore how your body has been responding to the pressures you’ve faced and use techniques to release stored emotions, promote healing, and restore balance.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience, and as a first-generation eldest daughter of Colombian parents myself, I understand the unique pressures that come from navigating two cultures and many expectations. I bring both personal insight and professional expertise to offer a holistic approach tailored to your needs, helping you manage guilt, overwhelm, anxiety, and depression while practicing prioritizing yourself. I will be your clinical cheerleader.
