La Jaysa is proud to be a Trans-Identified Provider!!! I am a clinical social worker specializing in mental/behavioral health. I incorporate my knowledge of Traditional Medicine and Clinical Social Work to provide a holistic approach to each individual I work with. As a trans-Latina, I strive to create more access and choices for my LGBQ and Trans family to help eliminate any barriers associated with care. Over twenty experience working with Hispanic/Latinx, Native American, Black, Trans/nb, LGBTQ, and other diverse communities of New Mexico has shaped my experiences and expertise and I specialize in providing therapy for a wide range of issues like:
I utilize a client-centered approach emphasizing the importance of the therapeutic relationship utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness/DBT, and relaxation techniques. I have studied clinical social work, massage therapy, and other traditional healing modalities and practice as a Traditional Healer in New Mexico. I am also a Transgender Person of Color interested in eliminating barriers to care for my LGBTQI/Latinx family. I am a nationally recognized public speaker and I love the work that I do. I take a very straightforward, no-nonsense approach to therapy and expect you to show up and do your own work!
