As a first-generation therapist with roots in the Mexican community of New York City I bring a wealth of personal experience to my practice. Growing up in an environment where mental health was rarely discussed, my first encounter with therapy during adolescence was a transformative experience. This pivotal moment not only helped me navigate my own personal struggles but also ignited my passion for a career in mental health. Today my mission is to provide a safe and empathetic space where clients can feel genuinely seen and heard.
I specialize in working with adolescents & older adults grappling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and self-esteem issues. My approach is distinctly client-centered, focusing on individuals beyond their diagnoses. Using CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and collaborative goal-setting I help clients develop coping strategies and find peace of mind.
The foundations of my practice are empathy, respect, and authenticity. Many of my clients resonate with my background, finding comfort and understanding in someone who mirrors their own life experiences. My openness about the stigma surrounding mental health, especially within my cultural context, makes me a valuable advocate for therapy as a tool for personal growth and resilience. Past clients report improved well-being, increased self-esteem, and an ability to communicate more effectively.
When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with family, especially at barbecues in the summer. I also enjoy discovering new places to eat with friends, going on road trips, and hiking. Playing soccer is foundational to my self-care routine.
