About Irma Castro-Vergara, MSW, LCSWA

Irma is a bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate at Healing Waves Therapy & Counseling. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is passionate about supporting individuals and families as they navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional stress.

Irma is committed to creating a compassionate, culturally responsive, and non judgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. She enjoys working with individuals experiencing anxiety, relationship concerns, and major life changes, and values helping clients build insight and coping strategies while honoring their unique life experiences.

Her therapeutic approach is collaborative and flexible, drawing from evidence based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and relational approaches. Irma believes in meeting clients where they are and integrates clients’ cultural values, family dynamics, and spiritual beliefs into the healing process when meaningful to them.

Outside of her clinical work, Irma enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and scrapbooking.
