About Heidy Milena Davila, MA, AMFT

You don’t have a lack of knowledge. You already know your patterns; you can name them, trace them back to childhood, and explain them better than most. And yet, on any given Tuesday, you end up doing exactly what you thought you understood. Understanding something and being able to change it are two different things, and that space in between is where I work.

What’s rarely said to those who already know themselves: your patterns were never flaws. Overloading, pleasing everyone, and reading every room. These were clever solutions that a younger version of you built to stay safe and maintain peace. They worked. That’s why they’re still active. And they don’t let go with logic, because they don’t live there: they live in the body, in the nervous system, and in your relationships. That’s where we work, from psychodynamic, somatic, and attachment perspectives.

I’m Heidy, a bilingual (English/Spanish) therapist and a first-generation Latina, raised in a Guatemalan immigrant home in Los Angeles. I understand the pressure, the loyalty, and the silent cost of being the reliable person. Free 15-minute consultation, in Spanish or English.

(English) I’m Heidy, a bilingual, first-generation Guatemalan Associate MFT in Los Angeles. I work with self-aware people, often first-gen adults and teens, who understand their patterns completely and still feel stuck. Those patterns were never flaws; they were intelligent solutions that outlived their purpose, and they don’t loosen through logic. That’s the work. Free 15-minute consultation, in Spanish or English.
