Hi, I’m Dr. Hector Soto. I see individuals, couples, and families working through trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship strain, behavioral health concerns, and major life transitions. Much of what we do together is making sense of the experiences underneath the distress. My approach is collaborative, trauma informed, and shaped around what you need rather than a single method. I draw from cognitive and behavioral therapies, psychodynamic and attachment focused work, Motivational Interviewing, and strengths based interventions, and with couples I use relationship focused techniques that build communication, trust, and emotional connection. If it matters to you, our work can also make room for questions of purpose, faith, and identity. My background includes forensic and medical settings, so I am comfortable coordinating with physicians when that would help your care.
My path into this work started out headed somewhere else. I was interested in pre-med and pediatrics, and then I took a course in abnormal child psychology and something shifted. What pulled me in was the question of how the mind works and what people actually need when they are carrying emotional pain. More than twenty years later, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has practiced across social services, schools, hospitals, and outpatient settings, and I still find that question worth showing up for. What has stayed with me most is how much strength people carry through trauma, loss, and adversity, often without recognizing it in themselves. That continues to shape how I sit with the people I work with.
I see clients through WellQor. If you would like to get started, fill out the Get Started form on the WellQor website and a member of our front office team will reach out to you directly to talk through scheduling and next steps.
Inclusion of individual and group practices on our website does not mean we directly endorse or recommend their services. All of our members offer a free consultation and we recommend screening any and all potential therapists before beginning your therapy services. For any issues, please contact us via email. Therapists listed practice independently.
