About Griselda Galvan, PsyD., LMFT 100013

I am a bilingual-bicultural licensed psychotherapist currently practicing out of Long Beach, California. I developed a career in psychology because I was interested in how people function, what motivates us and how we make our life choices that lead us to improve our quality of life. As a licensed Psychotherapist I am committed to building a strong rapport with my clients and help them explore where they are in life and assist them in making the best choices, they can make for themselves.

I strongly believe that a lot can change with positive communication. I have worked with people in abusive relationships, traumatic experiences, and adult individuals trying to manage life. In the past I have worked with children and families with behavioral and parenting issues. In 2016, I finished a doctoral program that focused on community mental health. I also worked for 13 years in a community mental health agency in LA county for children and families providing therapy, clinical supervision and ended my time there overseeing the mental health quality assurance department.

I am certified in treatment models like Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TFCBT) and Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP). However, I prefer to work eclectically using components of these models as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength Based and Psychodynamic therapy.
