I was drawn to social work because it helps me understand how systems, cultures, and societal challenges can shape individuals and communities. For the past four years, I’ve worked in an integrative health setting serving the Latin American community, where I have seen how experiences of war, colonization, racism, and patriarchy can impact trust, safety, and well-being. At the same time, I’ve witnessed remarkable resilience, healing, and growth. These experiences inspire me to approach my work with empathy, humility, and a commitment to supporting each person on their unique path
I recognize that opening up to someone new can be difficult. I try to meet clients where they are and understand what led them to seek support. My approach is collaborative and centered on emotional and physical safety. During sessions, I provide psychoeducation and practical skills to help clients navigate daily challenges and build resilience. I work best with clients who are motivated to apply these skills outside of sessions and actively engage in their healing process.
