Cultural Identities

About Gema Diaz, LMFT

You keep thinking “why can’t I just get over this already?”…. It may be time to give yourself the space to heal—whether that means working through old wounds, learning to calm the noise of anxiety, or building relationships that actually feel good to be in. You deserve a life that feels steady, connected, and genuinely yours.

I help young adult and first-gens who feel weighed down by everyday stress, past trauma, or recurring patterns in their relationships. I provide culturally-affirming therapy focused on healing and my goal is to help you reclaim your full self and firmly anchor your sense of belonging.

I integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and attachment-focused work. I also offer neurodivergent-informed care by supporting different ways of thinking, feeling, communicating, and processing of someone with ADHD.

As a first-gen, bilingual therapist myself, I understand the pressure of holding multiple worlds at once. My approach is grounded in cultural nuance, deep compassion, and a commitment to creating a space where you don’t have to translate your experience—you can simply be you.

Clients who do best with me are looking for an active, warm, and gentle direct approach. They are open to feedback and questions that lead them to their treatment goal. Book a free consult now!
