I am here to help you discover who you authentically are and feel more empowered. As a Latina/mixed race queer woman, I know the pain of feeling othered, marginalized, or minimized. As a result, I am dedicated to helping my clients build diverse, inclusive relationships and communities that celebrate the intersections of their identity and grant them more acceptance and true belonging. My purpose as a therapist is to meet you wherever you are with curiosity and non-judgment and provide a space to explore and integrate all parts of you. I am proud to be another messy human walking alongside you. I know firsthand just how hard it is to feel anxious, depressed, and have suicidal thoughts, and I’ve also struggled with my own identity, body image, and racial trauma. My personal journey navigating these challenges is what inspired me to become a therapist and informs how I work and am able to support you. I am especially passionate about supporting undocumented immigrants, Latinx, & BIPOC folks to explore and unpack the harms of systemic oppression & white supremacy and move towards individual and collective healing from racial trauma. I also specialize in supporting LGBTQIA+ and genderqueer teens and adults who are exploring their identities, grappling with heteronormative social constructs of gender and sexuality, and wanting to develop a relationship with themselves that proudly embraces who they are. My previous experience as a therapist in community mental health and inpatient settings has prepared me to support clients from all walks of life, who may be navigating persistent mental health experiences and diagnoses like substance use, bipolar disorder, personality processes, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. I also believe that a diagnosis doesn’t define who you are and may be more reflective of an environment or culture that hasn’t adequately supported you. I am interested in helping you to build tools and relationships that better support you and ensure that you get your relational needs met. I work from a Health at Every Size perspective that advances social justice by promoting body diversity and dismantling the “thin ideal”—recognizing how it has been informed by Western society’s racist, ableist, patriarchal values. I can’t wait to help you build a more inclusive, supportive relationship to your body that will help you feel more confident and proud of who you are.
