My journey to becoming a therapist was not a straight line – it was shaped by my own experiences growing up in a multicultural family wherein the tension between cultural assimilation and honoring our roots was something we navigated on a daily basis. All these experiences taught me that relationships can be complicated, identity is layered, and connection takes courage and intention. My multicultural background is a lens through which I understand my clients more fully. I know what it feels like to navigate relationships across cultural divides, to feel the pull between who your family wants you to be vs. who you truly are. If that resonates with you, you’ll find a therapist here who genuinely gets it, not only professionally but on a personal level as well.
I believe therapy should feel like a sanctuary. A place where you can walk in and speak honestly without fear of judgment and put down whatever you’ve been carrying around. From the very beginning, my goal is to make you feel safe, seen and heard. I work alongside my clients, we move at a pace that’s comfortable for you, follow your story, and build a therapeutic relationship in trust and mutual respect.
My area of focus is relationships. Whether that’s the relationship you have with yourself, a partner or partners, or within your own family. Relationships are my passion because I have seen both in my professional and personal life how much impact they have on shaping who we are. I strongly believe every person deserves relationships that feel safe and loving.
I primarily work from an attachment, sensorimotor and emotionally focused perspective. What that means is we will take time to understand the patterns that have been developed in the relationship, the attachment wounds present and why they may have had the impact they have on each other. We will work to understand what happens within your own body during times of distress and learn that the body can also be a resource to help us through those times.
